The house

This isn’t just another modern building with a vintage look—it’s the real thing. Built in the early 20th century, it started as a bourgeois family home. Later, it became the offices and warehouse of the old Livraria Aviz, now known as Livraria de José Alves, just on the street corner. When we bought it, it needed serious work, but we preserved original features like stucco ceilings, elegant woodwork, and a charming skylight.

Now, it’s been transformed into four unique flats—three studios and a one-bedroom duplex. They’ve kept the charm and character of the original house but with all the modern comforts you’d expect. Each flat is fully furnished and equipped, whether you’re staying for a weekend or a few months. Oh, and there’s a specialty coffee shop on the ground floor—we think you’ll love it.

If you love books, you’re in the perfect spot. The unique Livraria Lello, one of the most famous bookshops in the world, is just a 2-minute walk away. The city’s oldest bookshop, Moreira da Costa, is just around the corner, and Bertrand and Porto Editora are also close by.
